Some tools to help you to protect your Linux system

Normally we don’t worry about Linux security too much, but although Linux is safe you can to double check to have peace of mind.

sudo apt install chkrootkit
sudo apt install rkhunter
sudo apt install clamav
sudo apt install lynis

This last one is really interesting, it give us many suggestions to harder you system:

$ sudo lynis audit system

  1. When I attempted installing chkrootkit I see “The PGP key 748231EBCBD808A14F5E85D28C004C2F93481F6B is needed to verify chkrootkit source files. Trust Brent Timothy Saner and import the PGP key ?”
    Well, since I don’t know or necessarily trust this Brent Saner, I aborted.

    BTW – I use Manjaro Linux

  2. Hi Celem, strange it didn’t ask me it here. Did you test lynis, I like its suggestions to hardening my system.
