Makefile:434: *** mixed implicit and normal rules: deprecated syntax

I was getting it error message when executing “make menuconfig” for Linux kernel 2.6.24.

This is the line where the error happen:

config %config: scripts_basic outputmakefile FORCE
        $(Q)mkdir -p include/linux include/config
        $(Q)$(MAKE) $(build)=scripts/kconfig $@

I fixed it dividing the about command in two parts as explained here.

So, it becomes:

config : scripts_basic outputmakefile FORCE
        $(Q)mkdir -p include/linux include/config
        $(Q)$(MAKE) $(build)=scripts/kconfig $@

And:

%config: scripts_basic outputmakefile FORCE
        $(Q)mkdir -p include/linux include/config
        $(Q)$(MAKE) $(build)=scripts/kconfig $@

That all folks!
