English Figure of Speech

This post will be updated often to list some (not so) common figures of speeches used on English language:

B:
Bite the bullet – aceitar algo difícil e conviver com isso
Blown away – encantado
Break a leg: com boa sorte.

C:
Cold feet – perda de confiança

D:
Drain the Swamp – to exterminate something that is harmful

F:
Faux-pas: deslize.

G:
go off the boil/gone off the boil – lose interest in something/some project.

H:
Heading there – vamos pra lá, vamos lá (lugar físico)

M:
Makes no bones about: não esconde; deixa claro

R:
rolling in dough: muito rico(a) ; alguém com muito dinheiro pra gastar

S:
Sweet spot: ponto certo

T:
To this day: até hoje
Tongue-in-cheek: refere-se a uma frase que não deve ser levada a sério, expressão humorística, etc.

W:
Way to go: Congratulations, good job!
Wears the pants = quem manda (she wears the pants = ela quem manda)
